French proficiency testing

Meet your French language requirements at ºÚÁÏÉç, the largest accredited TEF/TEFaQ testing centre in Canada (in collaboration with the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP)).

All tests are held in person at the ºÚÁÏÉç School of Continuing Studies.

The and are French proficiency tests that are recognized as proof of fluency for immigration purposes. They are also accepted by some universities, CÉGEPs, professional associations, and employers as proof of French language skills.

      Test format and fees

      The tests consist of five (5) sections, which are scheduled so that there is little or no waiting time between each one on the day of your test.

      Registration

      1. Before you register

      1. Verify the registration period for your desired test dateÌý
        You cannot register for a test date until the registration period opens for that date (see table above). Please select your date carefully, as you cannot reschedule once you register.
      2. Verify which test and sections you need to register for
        Each candidate and institution has their own language requirements, so be sure to verify what you need.
      3. Ensure you have a valid passport
        Candidates without a valid passport are not permitted to register.

      2. How to register


      1. Make sure the information you enter on the registration form exactly matches your official government documents, as this is how it will appear on the attestation you are issued.
      2. Choose your test

      3. Select your test sections
        - Select the plus (+) icon in the grey box for the section you wish to take
        - Select ‘Add to Cart’
        - Repeat for all required sections
      4. Carefully review your cart
        - Select the grey shopping cart icon in the upper right corner
        - Double check your choices (the test date and sections will be final once you register)
        - Select ‘Checkout’
      5. Complete your payment
        All fees are non-refundable.

      3. After your register (test schedule)

      You will receive your test schedule 3 days prior to the test date. Your schedule cannot be changed, and rescheduling is not permitted.

      Please make sure to bring a valid passport with you on the day of your test.

      Results

      The multiple-choice questions for the Oral Comprehension & Written Comprehension and the Written Expression components are corrected by Le français des affaires de la CCI Paris Île-de-France (CCIP). The Oral Expression component is evaluated by a jury of examiners at the test center and may be subject to review.

      The Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris Ile-de-France (CCIP) will send you an email with steps to access your electronic attestation approximately three (3) weeks after taking the test.

      Which test sections should I register for?

      We cannot advise you on which sections to take, as requirements vary for each candidate. It is your responsibility to choose the sections you need.

      Can I reschedule or cancel?

      Once you register, you cannot make any changes to your test date.

      You may cancel your test, but please note that all fees are non-refundable.

      Where is the test held?

      All tests are held in person at the ºÚÁÏÉç School of Continuing Studies.

      What do I need to bring with me?

      You must bring a valid passport on the day of your test.

      When will I get my results/attestation?

      You receive an email from the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris Ile-de-France (CCIP) giving you access to your electronic attestation approximately three (3) weeks after taking the test.

      How do I request a verification of my results?

      The Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Inclusion of Quebec has the right to ask for the verification of the TEFaQ results awarded by the CCIP.

      You can request a verification of your results by directly submitting your request to the CCIP within a delay of 90 days following the date on which the TEFaQ result attestation was issued. and will cost 50 Euros. It should be processed within 4 weeks after the receipt of your application.

      Can I retake my test?

      Yes, you can retake the test as many times as you like. However, you must wait at least 30 days to redo the same competency, no matter where you take the test.
