Overview

Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences : Observing weather, climate and environmental chemistry in tropical Barbados. Emphasis on experiential learning. Field observations typically cover measurements of sea surface temperature, meteorological variables, and environmental chemical characteristics.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2024-2025 academic year.

  • Prerequisite(s): Permission of the instructor required.

  • Restriction(s): Open only to students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Science or Engineering.

  • This field course will be held at the Bellairs Institute in Barbados. Students pay for their own tuition and airfare. The course $2722.27 fee will cover 2 weeks of accommodation (double occupancy), food, transportation in Barbados, and lab supplies. The trip's duration is 15 days and 14 nights in May.
